D-COM Events

The D-COM Network holds, from time to time, events where we seek feedback from the construction industry on projects involved in the area of digitised construction compliance checking.

Digital Compliance Ecosystem – Industry Workshop on Compliance User Interfaces

10.00 to 12.00pm on 9th February 2022 – Online (Zoom)

The Construction Innovation Hub in partnership with Cardiff University and its DCOM Network are working in partnership to develop a new ‘digital compliance ecosystem’.

This digital compliance ecosystem will integrate and make more accessible, the web of tools and data sources that firms must use as part of the compliance process. This will drive greater and more consistent levels of compliance and help to reduce costs and administrative burdens.

This workshop will showcase the user interfaces we are developing for the compliance ecosystem. We will demonstrate the interfaces that have been developed for viewing digitised documents, and for submitting and approving building regulation applications. There will then be the opportunity for open discussion about the interfaces and feedback on them.

By attending this event, you will be able to keep up to date about our progress and the work in this area of the Construction Innovation Hub, Cardiff University and its DCOM Network. You will also have your views heard, be able to provide feedback and influence the future direction of our ecosystem’s developing user interfaces.

Digital Compliance Ecosystem – Industry Workshop on Compliance APIs

10.00 to 12.00pm on 1st December 2021 – Online (Zoom)

The Construction Innovation Hub in partnership with Cardiff University and its Digital Compliance (D-COM) Network are working in partnership to develop a new ‘digital compliance ecosystem’.

This digital compliance ecosystem will integrate and make more accessible, the web of tools and data sources that firms must use as part of the compliance checking process. This will drive greater and more consistent levels of compliance and help to reduce costs and administrative burdens.

This workshop will focus on how we will make the future digital compliance ecosystem an open tool for the construction sector. During the workshop, we will present the Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that will be available to users of the digital compliance ecosystem. This includes either users of the ecosystem, or services that may produce data useful to the compliance checking process.

The intended audience for this workshop is those who may be interested in learning more about how the digital compliance ecosystem will work at a technical level or would be interested in integrating their existing tools/services with the ecosystem in the future.

By attending this event, you will be able to keep up to date about our progress and the work in this area of the Construction Innovation Hub, Cardiff University and its D-COM Network. You will also hear first about the open APIs that will be provided by the digital compliance ecosystem, and our plan for making this a truly open ecosystem for the construction sector.

Digital Compliance Ecosystem – Industry Workshop

9.00 to 11.00am on 1st July 2021 – Online (Zoom)

The Construction Innovation Hub in partnership with Cardiff University and its DCOM Network are working in partnership to develop a new ‘digital compliance ecosystem’ to support design, construction and asset management firms in navigating the complex regulatory and compliance landscape with greater ease and certainty.

This digital compliance ecosystem will, for the first time, integrate and make more accessible, the web of tools and data sources that firms must use as part of the compliance process. As well as drive greater and more consistent levels of compliance, the new digital ecosystem should also help to reduce costs and administrative burdens for Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operation (AECO) businesses.

During the workshop, we will present our initial progress in the specification and design of the digital compliance ecosystem. We also wish to obtain industry feedback on our work so far, so will pose several important questions that will inform our development of the digital compliance ecosystem.

By attending this event, you will be able to keep up to date about our progress and the work in this area of the Construction Innovation Hub, Cardiff University and its DCOM Network. You will also have the opportunity to have your views heard, provide feedback and influence the future direction for our work in developing the digital compliance ecosystem.
